i have a bombay cat, and she is really sassy and mean at times but she makes up for it with enthusiasm and cuteness. i rescued her thinking she was a domestic shorthair and i got a dna test and she turned out to be an american bombay. she is also very very clingy lol but she’s amazing in every way and i wouldn’t trade her for the world❤️
Great video that actually shows what makes them look different from regular black cats. The round head and that stumpy little nose :3 Mine got crossed with a tuxedo cat, so she has white mittens, belly and chin. Orange eyes like a big spooky moon
I have one, named Ebony. She is the most relentlessly affectionate cat I have ever seen in my life. I have to actually go out of my way to get her to NOT spend time with me because she's just that clingy.
We live in the country in Maine. My wife is very allergic to cat hair and dander so we never owned any cats. Anyway, about a year after buying a farm house, a feral cat or what i thought was one would show up and run away. I started leaving food and water for him in my barn. It's three years later, he's the greatest. He definitely is a bombay, i remember telling my friends he follows me around even downtown, like a dog. It took a while for him to allow anyone to come near him. i think he was abandoned or something. So, now i have another orphan, a tiger female. They both get along and although that one is very skittish, lives upstairs in a bale of straw lol she is starting to allow me or my daughter to pet her. I can't save the world but am glad i have these two cat's patrolling my property. I let them in my heated basement this time of year but they prefer to be outside. I know there are alot of people that consider allowing a cat to go outside abuse. Look, these two would have probably starved or frozen to death. I give them love, food, water, a warm place. I have brought them to the vet for shots. Had to trap peeps the female as she is still wild. They pretty much stay in the barn at night three quarters of the year. both are good mousers too. That's my cat comment. In the spring i plant a large organic garden and the black cat named limeaid (long story) literally hangs out with me. When i watched this video i'm like he's not feral he's a bombay! He was a skinny little runt mayb a few months old when he showed up. He climbs trees like a panther and loves the outdoors. For those who think i should keep them inside, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I agree for any new kitten ideally if it's raised indoors, it probably is safer. I'm not impressed with the people i know that have cats that just sleep all day, overeat and have no personality. For me to force these cat's inside would not only make them sad as they may have been born outdoors (lot of old barns around) this is what they know. They have never been sick so far and are very healthy and smart. They do chase each other and have broken some antique bottles i had on a beam once but that's ok. They have cat class and cat style. Thanks for this awesome video. I learned alot. now i have to listen to the one about tiger cats. The girl is greyish blue with neat stripes. She can run very fast. We call her peeps because she doesn't meow only makes a peep noise like a bird. Sorry if i bored anyone lol. MT
My Bombay, Luna, is clingiest lil butthead in the world and she’s absolutely spoiled rotten. And I love her to pieces 🥹❤️
.. I’m not usually an animal person AT ALL, but a friend of mine told me her cat had kittens and asked if I wanted one. My response was “oh absolutely not ✋🏼🛑” … then she showed me pics/vids of them, and my eyes immediately locked in on the tiniest little baby in the corner of the kitty play pin. She was the only black cat in the litter and she was away from the others doing her own thing and I said “oh yeah…she’s mine. I’ll take her.” 😂
All of the other kittens in her litter were light grey with brown spots and I thought she just happened to have a darker coat. It was only when I took her to the vet, that I learned she was not the same as the others in her litter, and she had a different father than the rest of them. Which I didn’t even know was possible, but hey 🤷🏼♂️..
I agree 1000000% about Bombays being the dog of cats loll. Luna freakin LOVES bath time and will jump into any body of water and just swim in circles having a blast 😂 ..and she LIVES for playing fetch lmao. Also, she does not like to walk around the house and insists on sitting on my shoulder like a parrot. 😂😂
Bombay’s are smart as hell too. I have cams in my house so I can just check in on her throughout the day, and found out that Luna knows my work schedule and knows around when I’ll be home, because at 5:30 every single day, she stops what she’s doing, or wakes up from a nap and runs to my door where she sits for 30 minutes waiting for me to get home. Lol
If you’re thinking about getting a Bombay yourself, please please PLEASE make sure you have enough free time dedicated to it. Bombays crave attention and DEMAND to be the center of it at all times lol. Luna is a bossy little turd but I wouldn’t change a thing ❤️
My mom and I couldn’t figure out why her cat was doing everything she’s doing. Until we watched this YouTube video, we figured it all out. That it’s all in her breed and it’s normal.
I have a black sterilized cat from a shelter. He is a male and so sweet and affectionate, he follows you everywhere. He doesn't like to be left alone. My boyfriend bought him a bag to put him in especially made for animals. He walked with him in the center of Brussels at the evening he really loved it. He was so curious. This cat is really intelligent and curious. He is big and his paws are high. His fur is always shining and is quite short. He has copper eyes who sometimes turn green. He easily sneezes and he has a chronical flue so we must regulary go with him to the vet. This flue comes from time to time. We sometimes wonder if he is a bombay but because he comes from a shelter we really doubt it. But perhaps he is a hybride, I don't know. But we have never seen a cat like him.
Our cat is a Bombay. He loves to be held like a baby or over one shoulder. He gives lots of head bops and he’s very smart. He could be a little feisty when he was young but the older he gets the more loving and extremely cuddly he’s become. I’m sure he would have loved to be raised with children as he’s very patient and tolerant.
so I have a store we got a black cat for the human sisity they thout he was dimestic srot hair then we see this and get him DNA test and pof we have a bombay
Omg mine is big that that one the leash. Hes a bit bigger. He wrestles medium sized dogs. I said this is not a regular cat. He would eat all day if i let him.
My family recently got a black cat. When she got bigger (not kitten sized) I noticed different features and found out she's a Bombay cat. She is very affectionate. She bonded with my husband and she constantly sits with him on his chair.
We have an adorable Bombay cat named Sebastian. Velcro kitty all the way! Crazy long legs and tail, Looks funny when he sits! He fetches and brings me toys all day that he wants me to play with him with! We joke that we should have named him Shadow. Not a typical entertain themselves cat! 💚💚💚
I rescued My cat in a tree the day before Halloween last year he was soo tiny I named him Wolfgang because he looked like a little wolf when he was tiny i actually have three rescues Oskar( prince ah boo-boo) kali (changa) & Wolfgang (wolfe) those are the nicknames for them lol. But they get in trouble I’ll use they’re full names
I've had two bombay cats in my life and both were SUPER affectionate/clingy. my second one, Macha, had this adorable thing where she would literally crawl into my blankets and wiggle between me and my stuffed rabbit I sleep with
These are gorgeous; my favourite cat is a type I always refer to as "streamlined"; they are slim and shorthaired, and all black. So it looks like Bombay is the kind I like, good to know 🙂
Love our beautiful Bombay boy, we got him in 2020, after our son got his older brother, it was a bit of Black Magic 🪄, our boy was from the mother’s final litter & he’s long and tall, not used to having a cat that stands up & can easily pick stuff off all our counters. So glad I got him, because my 11 year old Flame Point Siamese got suddenly sick and passed away two days short of a month later. Sisko is a Velcro cat, just like my deceased kitty, he helped me heal❤❤❤ He doesn’t like me to leave, his coat is the gloomiest coat, patin leather is a good description!!

Lol. My bombay loves being held and petted. She will just lay on my chest and fall asleep. Cute.

My Bombay (Lucifer) acts more like a dog than my dog does
We just visited my mother-in-law and she's got a male Bombay. He is so huge and super soft and sweet!

If I ever get a cat, it’s going to be one of these.
Is someone going to talk about the Bombay cat making a weird noise while getting brushed? 😂💀 1:55
My Bombay thinks she makes a wonderful headrest while I drive. Will make a hammock for her spot with high sides to keep her safe.
me and the family took in and raised a stray black cat and he brought us nothing but good luck.
I am gorgeous, aren’t I? lol
Bombay looks like a baby black panther

RIP my Bombay cat Midnight (2008 or 2009 – 2022)
All bombay cats are black, but not all black cats are Bombays
Quite handsome
I would love to have a Bombay someday!
